SECURE ADULT FAMILY
ENVIRONMENT, INC.
A family's greatest fear is that our loved ones' capacity to live alone will diminish rapidly and go unnoticed or they will hurt themselves, have a stroke or heart attack and not be found in time or for days after the event.
Secure Adult Family Environment’s (S.A.F.E.) goal is to provide peace of mind to families (our Clients) by monitoring the safety and independence of their senior and frail loved ones (our Residents) in their homes. Our mission is to help seniors and the frail (our Residents) remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible through the regular monitoring of their safety and wellbeing.
Our vision is to be a leader in establishing standards of service that will assist families to maintain the independence of their elderly and frail loved ones in their own homes for as long as possible
What we do
Certified personnel make an initial evaluation of the Resident’s safety and independence in their home. A schedule of visits and daily, automated calls (Well Call) is recommended for approval by the Client. Approved visit frequency may be anywhere from five times weekly to once-a-month. Our Home Monitoring Agents (HMA’s) follow the approved schedule to monitor the Resident’s safety and well being. Regular reports are made to the Client.
HMA’s are trained and supervised by certified professionals. We provide guidance, supervision and evaluation of the Resident, bringing recommendations and reassurance to family members who live at a distance. This allows the family to be aware of changes in the health, safety, welfare and surroundings of their loved ones, enabling the family to make decisions with the aid of our independent evaluation and regular observation visits.
In addition, we recommend our “Well Call”daily telephone service. This automated service phones the resident on a preauthorized schedule and time to determine their response. If there is no answer, a S.A.F.E. agent calls the home. If the Resident still does not answer or a problem is apparent, an HMA is sent to the home to investigate and take appropriate action.

The program sounds like it will be beneficial, particularly for seniors whose family members live too far away to check on them regularly. You may wish to let the area agency on aging in your area know about your program so they can add it to their resource information for callers to their elder helpline. It’s the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas http://www.agingcarefl.org/ .

Looks good. I have to believe that with the aging population that products and services aimed at this demographic will boom ! Great needed product.

Upon meeting Mr. Boudreau, and receiving an outline of S.A.F.E. services, Dr. Neiman stated that it was a service which should have been instituted years ago. The physician further stated that he would review the information and welcomed further contact for his office and patients.

This is a program which could benefit patients and residents alike. There are so many who need assistance, and don't have it, because their families are unaware. The everyday task of preparing for the day is often more than they can accomplish and their families never know. Families would benefit with an observation in (the) home to keep them aware of changes we, as physicians, cannot be aware of.

Pinellas County Physician
